BE MORE YOU launched this spring to embolden our audience and reinforce personal confidence in one’s self. Now, more than ever, people are feeling the need to express themselves. To be felt for who they are and who they’ve become over the past couple of years. Bridge Street is the perfect place for them to answer the question: Who do you want to be?
Each month we are going to highlight a local gem of Huntsville who shows what it’s like to BE MORE YOU.
For the month of May we are featuring a local mom and business owner, Rebecca Guntharp!
Rebecca is a local mom of two and owner of FIT4MOM Madison. Rebecca has been a small business owner since 2018. She is a Personal Trainer, Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and Group Fitness Instructor and specializes in training prenatal and postnatal women.
What made you get involved with FIT4MOM Madison?
In 2016, I had just moved to the U.S. from London (I’m a dual U.K./U.S. citizen). I was also a first-time parent with a newborn looking for a community to help me learn more about the area, make new friends and navigate motherhood. FIT4MOM checked all the boxes. I took my first class and found this amazing community…and it became my home away from home. Eventually, I was able to make my passion for FIT4MOM my career and I purchased the franchise here in Madison in 2018. Now I get to pay forward the love and support that I received from FIT4MOM when I was a new mom to other families in Madison and Huntsville.
What makes you, you?
I’m a mom of two, wife and entrepreneur. So there are many different versions of ‘me’. But at the foundation of those is a person with a sense of adventure. I love taking on new challenges, exploring new places and trying new things. I’m a big advocate of always trying something new and saying yes to as many things as much as possible…you never know where it will lead.
How can you help others embrace their individuality?
I believe that when you are prioritizing your physical, mental and emotional strength, you can be the best version of yourself. That’s easy to say but honestly really hard to do in practice. It’s easier when you have a community there to help you. There are so many amazing groups in Madison/HSV…so whether it’s a workout group, trivia group, hiking group, hobby group, church group, or knitting group…try something new and find your Village.
What are some summer fun activities you like to do with your kids at Bridge Street?
We love summer at Bridge Street! I’m at Bridge Street almost every week in the summer months. We start our day with a FIT4MOM workout (pssst…come workout at Bridge Steet with us every Friday at 9:30 am), then we head to the pop jets. My girls love to play in the water to cool off, and I love hanging out on the shaded benches chatting with the other families and watching my girls play. Usually, we’ll then take a spin on the carousel, and finish out our morning on the Urban Cookhouse patio for lunch. My kids LOVE the UC piggy mac and this mama loves their Strawberry Lemonade!
